 | 09:35 pm - Happy Christmas! Hello everyone and Merry Christmas! (or Happy Holidays to those who might not celebrate Christmas).
For those who are curious, my little vacation is going well. Things are interesting here at Brian's house since his mom is still not letting us sleep in the same bedroom since we're not married. . . yet we haven't seen each other in four months and we are planning to get married. *shrugs*
Well we got to Washington on Tuesday evening (around 7 p.m.) after an awesome drive from Crescent City. We had a nice small dinner while in Crescent City and then we got some needed sleep (even if the people above us were loud as hell when they woke up and thromping around their hotel room). We had a nice breakfast at the little inn that was across the lot and then we were off! We drove along the coast for a while then ended up cutting through the valley along a river to I-5. We went through downtown Portland -- it's a neat little city along the Columbia river and you can see Mount Hood from the city (and yes, MOUNTAIN. I now know what a mountain is according to Brian). So when we got to his mom's house we had a nice hot dinner and then I literally passed out. . . accidentally on Brian's bed. Apparently his mom threw a fit. . . whoops!
So Wednesday we met Brian's dad and brother Thomas in Olympia for coffee and chatted for a bit; Brian's brother is pretty cool (you can tell they're brothers -- they have the same attitude). It was also nice to catch up with Brian's dad since he's really cool. Then we ventured to some random places (including the mall) to get last minute Christmas presents and then the courthouse to finalize our wedding plans. . . yay. Our little wedding thing is on Monday, with two of his best friends as our witnesses. Should be a good time. Then we came home, ate dinner, chillaxed and passed out again.
Yesterday was pretty fun; we woke up and tidied up the house, then got ready for Christmas eve dinner. Then, I met his entire family (mostly) on his mom's side of the family. They're pretty cool; it's nice not to be the youngest in the family actually now. It was good and fun company so it made the enjoyable experience. Since Brian and I are now attached, we got joint presents so that was pretty neat -- we got the Dark Knight and Jeff Dunham's Christmas Special on DVD, as well as we both got two $50 gift cerftificates to Amazon.com from his grandparents . . .pretty neat. His family was very welcoming so I'm happy they liked me. . . or so I think haha.
Today was pretty enjoyable as well, except for Brian's dog. His dog must have gotten sick or something because he didn't really move or eat yesterday and this morning he would vomit after drinking some water. . . he's moving around some more though. He's really old so I think his days are numbered. . .poor boy. But anyways, we waited for Thomas and his family to come over as well as Brian's dad and we opened presents. I even got my own stocking from his parents and his grandmother! (One normal stocking filled to the brim, and one huge gift bag for Brian and I overflowing with gifts). I got two gift cards for Charlotte Russe and two giftcards to Bath and Body Works; Brian got me a pretty nifty extreme weather calendar and a pair of diamond stud earrings :-) We may trade them in to get aquamarine ones because I already have a pair of studs that I always wear. ..so I teased him for not asking if I already had some haha. Then we went to Brian's dad's parents house (oma and opa) for lunch/dinner and that was neat because his grandmother is german. So I met everyone on his dad's side today. . . neat. I noticed this family is all about tile games. . . like all the siblings got extensions for "The Settlers of Catan" and we got some german tile game I'll get back to you on the name haha.
Anyways, tonight we're going to Seattle to pick up Brian's friend Keoni from the airport then probably going to hang out. I hope everyone had had a great holiday and break so far! Current Location: Brian's livingroom Current Mood: festive Current Music: Brian and Thomas playing Wii

 | 11:42 pm - . . .in Crescent City, CA. ( Read more... )
So now Brian and I are in Crescent City, CA. . . which is right on the border of California and Oregon. We've had an awesome drive so far. . .especially after Texas and the eastern portion of New Mexico haha. We stayed in Flagstaff our first night (previous post) and when we woke up to leave at around 5:15 the next morning it was seven degrees. WTF. . . it's ARIZONA [but we were like 7500 ft up but still]. Then we drove. . . the Mojave desert was pretty neat with a bunch of rocks and steep cliffs. We eventually got into California aaaand well, THEY HAVE INSPECTIONS. Yeah. Retarded.
About 5 miles after we crosses the border into Cali we had to stop at some toll booth looking thing for them to ask us if we had any fruits and veggies or animals with us. Are they too good for my Florida Oranges? Still retarded but oh well. Then we stopped in Barstow, California for some lunch and gas. I have a cold sore or prolly bit the crap out of my right cheek so when I had to eat my sandwich from Subway I had to cut it with a fork and knife...yeah. I'm also fighting some gay allergies that make the icky stuff wanna travel to my chest...bastard body of mine *shake fist*
So then I drove to about 40 miles from San Francisco. . . .passed some more desert, pretty neat hills and mountains, wineries, etc. We eventually got into San Francisco about 7 p.m. [after rush hour thank god] and went over the Golden Gate Bridge :) We even got to go through the city for a little bit -- it's so cute! The houses look really neat with their bay windows [think Full House here kids] and their many one-way streets and hills. I even saw a trolley! But yeah, the incline of the hills is insane. . . we were travelling down the hill to get to the bridge and I swear we were sitting at a 60 degree angle at least. It was nuts. But, the Golden Gate Bridge was better than I had imagined! The second Bay Bridge is similar in structure but the orange of the Golden Gate Bridge as well as size give it a huge contrast. Not to mention it cost $4 to go on the Bay Bridge but not Golden Gate Bridge. . . Anyways, so we travelled about 45 minutes from San Francisco to Santa Rosa and checked into our hotel. Clem met us there and took us to dinner -- at In-n-Out! I was so excited when we pulled into the parking lot because I kept hearing from Beth and everyone who had been to one that their burgers were amazing! And guess what. . . it was! The food was really yummy [even if I did have to eat it with a fork and knife haha]. Then, I crashed. Hardcore. Needed sleep.
So today Brian and I drove to more Northern California. . .through the Redwoods and past wine country [amazing scenery fyi]! I think today was our best day so far [regardless of the rain] because we only had to drive about six hours so we got to stop off at some little parks and anywhere we felt like it. So we drove through Redwood National Park and Humboldt/Redwood National Park and stopped at the respective Visitor's Centers. . . really neat. Those trees are fricken huge dude, like wtf. They even had baby trees; I wanted to buy one haha but it wouldn't live too well in Florida haha. From there we kept driving north on 101 and eventually got to the coast where I saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time! It was awesome! [prolly cause the waves were nuts dude]. And...I saw an elk! [specifically male] it was pretty neat -- about the size of a horse with some antlers thrown on its head haha.
The drive itself was worth it, I highly recommend taking 101 on the west coast. . .it's some winding roads in certain aspects but you see so much of the state it's insane. And the typical driving on the coast about 100 feet from the crashing ocean below you? Doesn't happen until about 20 miles south of Crescent City :-P Was awesome though; took some really neat photos of the ocean and such. So now we're here in Crescent City with another eight hour drive ahead of us tomorrow and we'll be in Washington. The weather is supposed to be more shitty than today's but oh well. . . wish us luck! Need to watch Charlie Brown now :-P Current Location: Best Western in Crescent City Current Mood: cheerful Current Music: Brian breathing...

 | 11:09 pm - Sitting in Flagstaff. . . Hey all!
So now Brian and I are embarking on our lovely little trip and we're staying in a hotel in Flagstaff, AZ for the evening. We started driving this morning at around 5-5:15 from Killeen (after some well needed "sleep"). . . actually yeah I needed sleep. Yesterday after I posted was chaos. So they overbooked my flight from Houston to Killeen (it's a turboprop. . . not that hard guys) and moved our gate. . . yay. So the plane FINALLY got into Houston at around 8:45 and I got to Killeen at 9:45. . . turboprop planes are loud but pretty fun.
Today's drive was pretty nice actually. Brian started driving and after five hours we switched in Lubbock, TX (right in the panhandle, about an hour from the New Mexico boarder). Then I drove five hours to Albuquerque, NM where we switched and got gas. Texas is very. . .boring. To sum it up it's flat with some random hill things. . .wind farms ontop of hills. . .and oil pumps. kthx.
Eastern New Mexico is probably more desolate than Texas. . .I mean there is NOTHING around besides hills. Then as you head west towards Albuquerque you start seeing these hills and "mountains" as I had dubbed them (Brian doesn't call them mountains cause they aren't big. . . until I see said rather large body of rock I call them mountains. Hmmph.) in the distance and then the city. . .mind you you're already at around 6500 ft above sea-level. Yeah, flippin' crazy.
Then Albuquerque. . .looked really cute all nestled in the canyons and such. Dunno how that works out with mudslides and what not.
Then continued on our merry way to Arizona. We even got about an hour from the boarder and I THINK I took a nifty photo. . .for anyone who has seen the movie Cars, do you remember how in the side of the canyon there were like older cars (from like the 40's) carved out? Yeah, I'm pretty sure we drove past that same canyon (minus the carved cars of course). Pretty nifty.
Then the sun went down as we were driving in Arizona and you could see all the stars :) I was excited. . . however you couldn't see anything else haha. Kinda cool but whoa at the same time.
So off to get food and get some much needed sleep after a 15-hour car ride, ugh. Off to Santa Rosa, California tomorrow! Current Location: Ramada Inn, Flagstaff AZ Current Mood: tired Current Music: The buzzing of the heater

 | 08:20 pm - As I'm Sitting in Houston Sooo right now I'm sitting in Houston (to be exact, GW Bush airport) awaiting my flight to Killeen (where Brian is located). My flight to Houston was ok; it was pouring rain when I left Miami ('cause there's a low pressure system over the southeast right now and we even had severe wx. . . even a tornado warning south of me! *squeee*). Anywho, I was surprised on how full my flight was. . . every seat was taken pretty much. I thought I lucked out and got a space between me and an old lady but at the last minute this guy runs on board and well. . . he was the seat filler. He was rather funny; apparently he's from Atlanta but lives in Miami. . .works for US Airways I think. He was really gay, and hungover (I could smell it on him and then he admitted he was still hungover from last night 'cause he was in the Bahamas and he bought two bottles of vodka for his orange juice. . . right. . . )
Anywho, for some reason my allergies decided to act up so I ended up passing out on my pillow ('cause I brought it and it kept me warm). Flight was ok otherwise. . .the gulf coast looks really swampy and such. . . kinda weird. And everything is really brown.
Oh well, I think the pilots this morning didn't have their coffees or something because my flight is delayed by an hour. There's no bad weather around and I went to check all of the previous flights for the day and they were all delayed from the get-co pretty much. Oh well. Something must have happened because my ass is still sitting in the airport waiting for the plane. Oh well.
I'm excited. It's the first time I've seen Brian in four months, I get to go on this awesome car trip, and have a cold Christmas (with the possibility of snow of course!) Hooray!
And I got to open my presents last night from my parents -- got a severe wx radio :-D, a cute long sleeved shirt with hood, under armour, $20 from my grandmother (cause my present is still en route), and as stocking stuffers I got some deodorant and claritin haha.
